Sundowner II log – 2007 update 28 – Gaeta
April 2007
Laid in bed at 11 o’clock with a cool breeze flowing through the hatch and cooling the decks in the spring sunshine. We are still tied up in the marina with a hardly a job of note done on Sundowner. It is our first day of rest and non commitment since we returned nearly a month ago from a hard few months work in Scotland, which, though the work was exhausting with a lack of days off due mainly to the mild weather (and getting older), we once again spent an enjoyable winter with our friends big bear and little bear. A feeling for a while now has been growing that we may be asking too much of ourselves to complete the long trip to Turkey this year, this was confirmed when after an enjoyable trip to Rome to watch United with Seb, Dennis returned with a broken wrist which will take a few weeks of recuperation helped by our good friend Luigi who is not only a good drinking and football buddy he is also a top physiotherapist. So with our departure further delayed we are seriously thinking of postponing the trip until next year, which we can although the natural urge is to keep moving on.
